Sprout Flat (sproutflat.com) is a personal blog about indoor countertop hydroponics. This policy explains what data is collected when you visit the site and how it’s used.

What I collect

Analytics: I use two analytics services to understand how the site is used:

  • Google Analytics (GA4): Collects anonymized page view and engagement data. Google may use cookies to distinguish unique visitors. You can opt out via Google’s browser add-on . See Google’s privacy policy .
  • PostHog: Collects page views, engagement, and anonymous interaction events (such as which links are clicked). PostHog data is hosted in the EU and processed through a first-party proxy on our domain. No cookies are set for anonymous visitors and no personal data is collected unless you explicitly identify yourself. See PostHog’s privacy policy .

Cookies: This site does not set first-party cookies for anonymous visitors. Google Analytics may set cookies on this domain to distinguish visitors. If you click an affiliate link to Amazon, Amazon may set cookies on their domain subject to their own privacy policy.

Some articles contain links to products on Amazon. These are affiliate links through the Amazon Associates program. When you click one and make a purchase, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Clicks on affiliate links are tracked anonymously (no personal data) to measure which content is most helpful. The actual purchase transaction happens entirely on Amazon’s site.

Third-party services

  • Cloudflare Pages: Hosts this site. Cloudflare may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited). See Cloudflare’s privacy policy .
  • Google Fonts: This site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may log your IP address. See Google’s privacy policy .

Children’s privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
